WHAT CAN WE DO TODAY?

Wwith the excitement of the hospitality industry opening up, we want to make sure that our other activities don’t get overshadowed. That’s why this week, we thought we would give everyone a little nudge and remind you what else you can do in a post-April 12th world.

HEAD TO THE LIBRARY

My bank account has been taking the biggest hits on bookshop.com due to the fact I cycle through roughly two books a month and I HAVE to have something to read every morning with my coffee. That’s why I’m so excited that we will once again be able to hit up the local library and take out enough books to satisfy my morning routine.

GET YOUR HAIR DONE

We don’t know about anyone else, but our hair has never been more desperate for a trim. With appointments canceled in December, it’s coming up to a year since anyone trimmed our ends and you can definitely tell. In a move away from the shockingly sexist staggered opening of beauty services of last year; all salons, hairdressers, and beauty industries are opening at the same time as barbers. Hurrah!

SHOP LOCAL

That’s right, retail is back. And we’re not talking essentials. With all retail opening again, we’re heading to our favourite independents to browse the definitely non-essentials that make us so happy.

GET A SWEAT ON

The love for Instagram live workouts is definitely rubbing off, but thankfully gyms are open again from this week! For us, a class or a good session on a Saturday followed by a nice local coffee is a great weekend activity!

GO AND VISIT THE ANIMALS

We’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to see animals that aren’t our pets! But from this week, zoos and outdoor attractions are once again open for business!

HIT THE DRIVE IN

Open-air cinema felt like it hit its heyday in 2019 (Secret Cinema, Rooftop Cinema, Floating Cinema…the list goes on). But we have a feeling that 2021 is when we all remember how good it is to watch the big screen under the stars. With few films in production in the last year, we’re hoping some classics will be on the cards, to begin with.
